Ridge Road, Ontario, NY
By BRADLEY M. COWAN

Seventeen people are looking for a place to live after flames ripped through the Ontario, New York business district on October 10th around 10:30pm. The initial call was for an oven fire at Cam's New York Pizzeria on Ridge Road.

When firefighters arrived, the flames had already spread next door to the Yankee Peddler Book Shop and to eight apartments upstairs. Every resident made it out safely. Three cats have been found alive by firefighters. Five alarms were called as companies from two counties sent in trucks and manpower. The structure which contained several business and apartments burned into the early hours of the morning. Three ladder trucks set up and poured water on the structure after initial interior attempts were driven out.

The responding agencies Included Ontario, Union Hill, Webster, West Webster, Walworth, Lincoln, Ridge Culver, Fairport, Penfield, and others.
