Walworth Ambulance Inc. began providing ambulance service for the Town of Walworth on December 10, 2008. We began third-party billing on January 1, 2009.

Ambulance service in the Town of Walworth was run by the Walworth Fire Dept. as a sub-committee for many years. In 2008, members of the fire dept. started Walworth Ambulance Inc. and the Walworth Fire Department Ambulance Service disbanded, transferring their DOH Certificate to the newly formed not-for-profit.
Our "new" organization provides emergency medical care and transport to the residents of Walworth, West Walworth, and Lincoln Fire Districts. We currently use two modular ambulances (AM-17 and AM-60), and an advanced-life-support first response vehicle (Medic-25). Our trained volunteers respond to medical emergencies in our coverage area day and night, twenty-four hours a day. We generally transport patients from our community to Rochester General, Strong, Highland, Clifton Springs, and Newark-Wayne Hospitals.
Teamwork...
We often work along side our neighboring EMS agencies during emergencies. We have an agreement with the Wayne County Advanced Life Support Services for joint use of Medic 25. For 40 hours per week, WCALS operates the fly car under the designation of "Medic 81." This agreement has allowed us to have closer and more timely access to advanced care in life-threatening emergencies.
Sometimes, we call in additional ambulances from Marion, Macedon, or Ontario when we have several patients. When things get really bad, we call in Mercy Flight Central's medi-vac helicopter. Together, we can handle the wide variety of medical emergencies that occur in our community.
Training...
Our volunteers are trained through a variety of state and county courses. They volunteer their own personal time so that they can receive the training they need to better our community. Here's a partial list of the courses our members have taken:

Our New Online Duty Crew Calendar:
Cleared drivers and medics may access the calendar below through email invitation only. When you sign up for a shift, please indicate your name and the position you're signing up for (i.e.: prime driver or backup BLS medic, etc.). You may not alter or delete other members' shifts.
Also, do not put the names of trainees or observers on the calendar, as too much text makes it difficult to read. If you are a trainee, student, or observer, you must call the medic to ask permission to ride along. Do not show up announced.
